Cornerstone Financial Education is licensed by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel consumers who are going through the initial steps of their bankruptcy filing. Their counselors will assist you in reviewing your options and their online videos and testing allows you to complete this step on your own schedule. The counseling and education is designed to be easy to understand and is convenient as possible to help you with this important decision. If you are considering bankruptcy but have not yet filed, you can still contact one of Cornerstone’s financial counselors to discuss your possible options.
Homeowners who are concerned about losing their home should know about their options under the Making Home Affordable program, which includes the Home Affordable Modification Program (or HAMP). You can speak with one of Cornerstone’s counselors about your possible eligibility for this program, or visit the websites of the Department of Justice. These sites provide information about HAMP, including eligibility self-assessment tools for homeowners.
Cost: The cost of the Pre-Bankruptcy Certificate Course is waived for members of GTFCU/ACU.
The cost for non-members is only $25.00.
